FARM TO TABLE FARE
WITH SPANISH FLAIR
Any restaurateur will tell you that atmosphere is almost as important as the food. The quest of Mila’s was three-fold: 1) to partner with local farmers to source the freshest ingredients, 2) recreate authentic Spanish fare 3) while creating an identity and relaxed environment that allows patrons to feel like they’re sunbathing on Las Ramblas, watching Barcelona buzz around them.
SCOPE: Art Direction, Brand Identity, Menu Design
Visual Identity
Both the food and the branding were designed to feel like a discovered memory tucked away in the senses.
Journals from a trip to Barcelona provided key design details. Renowned architect Antoni Gaudi created Casa Mila for Pere Mila and his wife — a stylized photograph of her bust sits front and center on the menu. Sketches of Gaudi’s undulating creation are tucked on to the bottom corner of the menu.
The logo takes on an architectural persona that the color palette softens. Warm, chocolatey hues bring the sunshine of the Spanish climate and and adds a rusticism that quickly expels the haughtiness sometimes associated with finer dining.
